What separates a repair that holds from one you pay for twice
A truck comes in with a check-engine light and low power. The shop reads the code, replaces the sensor the code pointed at, clears the light and sends it out. Two weeks later the light is back, the truck is down again, and there are two invoices for one problem.
The part was not the difference. The difference was whether anyone found out why that sensor read wrong in the first place. A clogged DPF, a leaking boost hose, a failing injector and a bad sensor can all throw the same code. Only one of them is the truck’s actual problem.
That is the whole job. It is what you pay a shop for.
How we diagnose before we quote
Every truck that rolls into bay 01 gets a technician on it before anyone writes an estimate. The tech pulls active and stored codes with Snap-on and Matco diagnostic tools and reads the freeze-frame data, which shows what the engine was doing when the code set. Nothing gets cleared until it is recorded.
Then the tech checks the physical side the code cannot see. Boost pressure under load. Fuel pressure. Exhaust restriction. Air build time at the gauge and the leak-down rate when the engine is off. Charging output and a battery load test on anything electrical. A pressure test on any cooling system with an overheat history.
On a Cummins, the tech working the fault tree is Cummins certified. On an International, International certified. We are independent, not a dealer, and the certifications mean the shop is not guessing at the factory procedure.
Four technicians run the bays. That matters for turnaround: a truck is not waiting on the one person who knows that engine.
What we repair
Class 4 through Class 8, trucks and trailers. Freightliner, Peterbilt, Kenworth, Volvo, International, Mack, Western Star and Hino, with Cummins, Detroit, Caterpillar and Paccar engines.
Diesel engine
Diagnostics, repair and rebuilds. Injector service, turbocharger repair, head gaskets, oil leaks, timing problems, overhauls.
Transmission and drivetrain
Clutch replacement, transmission rebuilds, shifter repair, driveline service, U-joints, PTO service.
Air brakes
Air compressors, brake chambers, air dryers, valves, air leaks, brake adjustment, slack adjusters, drums and linings.
Electrical and diagnostics
No-start diagnosis, alternators and starters, wiring repair, lighting, ABS troubleshooting, computer diagnostics.
Cooling and HVAC
Radiators, heater cores, AC recharge and repair, thermostats, water pumps, hoses.
Suspension and steering
Air bags, leaf springs, shocks, kingpins, power steering, tie rod ends. The Hunter HawkEye XL alignment system is in the same shop, so a truck that had front-end work done can be aligned before it leaves instead of making a second trip.
The estimate comes before the work
After diagnosis you get parts, labor and the timeline in writing. Nothing starts until you approve it. If the tech finds something else once the truck is apart, the work stops and you get a call. You decide. Call for the current labor rate; we do not print it here because it changes and the number you were quoted is the number you should pay.
Why the warranty travels with the truck
We are a certified NAPA Truck Care Center. Repairs are backed by the NAPA nationwide warranty, which means a covered part that fails in another state can be handled at a NAPA truck service location there, not just back in Toledo. For a truck that runs I-75 to Florida or the Turnpike to Chicago, that is the difference between a warranty and a piece of paper. The written terms are on our warranty page.
Using NAPA parts off our own shelf is also most of why the same-day number is real. The part is usually here.

Getting the truck in
Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Same-day service on many repairs depends on parts and the bay schedule, so the earlier in the day the truck is here, the better the odds.
Send the 30-second request form with the unit, the symptom and when you need it back. We will call you with a drop-off time. If you would rather talk first, (419) 724-2475 during shop hours.
