A truck that comes in for repair usually brings a trailer, a driver, a load and a clock. The Sam’s Hub was built so all four have somewhere to go while the truck is in the bay.
The campus sits off I-75 in north Toledo, near I-280, at 820 Matzinger Rd. Four businesses, one location, local ownership with the decision makers on site.
Sam’s Truck & Trailer Repair
The shop at the center of the hub. Truck and trailer repair, diagnostics, DOT annual inspections, CARB Clean Truck Check testing, fleet maintenance, heavy-duty alignment on the Hunter HawkEye XL, welding and fabrication, and front-of-line emergency service during shop hours. NAPA Truck Care Center, with ASE, Cummins and International certified technicians. (419) 724-2475, Monday through Friday 8 to 5.
Sam’s Parking & Storage
Secure truck parking and trailer storage on the campus. Drop the trailer while the tractor is in the shop. Stage trailers for a fleet. Park a unit that is waiting on parts or a driver. parkatsams.com
Sam’s Travel Center
Fuel, food and a break for the driver while the truck is serviced, nearby on the campus. A driver waiting on a brake job gets a meal and a fuel stop instead of a waiting room. samstravelcenter.com
Sam’s 3PL Solutions
Cross-dock and short-term warehouse space for fleet and logistics customers. A load that cannot wait for the tractor gets cross-docked to another unit; freight that needs to sit a day or a week has a place to sit. toledo3pl.com
Why fleets use the hub
- One location for repair, parking, fuel and staging. One call instead of four.
- Less downtime. The trailer, the driver and the load are handled while the truck is in the bay, not after.
- Easy access from I-75 and I-280, minutes from the Michigan line and the Turnpike connection.
- Built for fleets: multiple units, scheduled PM, consolidated billing on the repair side, parking and storage by the unit.
- Local ownership. The people who make decisions are on the property, not in another state.
How it works in practice
A tractor comes in with a trailer. The trailer drops at Sam’s Parking & Storage. The driver fuels and eats at Sam’s Travel Center, or the fleet sends a second driver to pick the trailer up. If the load is time-critical, Sam’s 3PL Solutions cross-docks it. The tractor goes into a bay, gets diagnosed, and you get the call with what it needs and when it is done. When it is done, the trailer is where it was left.
For a fleet, the same campus handles the routine: PM on a schedule, trailers staged between loads, freight that needs a short-term home between a dock and a truck.
