Where the shop is relative to the toll road
The Ohio Turnpike crosses the Toledo area in about 22 miles, from Maumee at exit 59 to Elmore at exit 81. We are north of all of it, a mile off I-75 at exit 207 in north Toledo. The toll road has three ways to reach us, and one of them is clearly the shortest.
Exit by exit, west to east
- Exit 59, mile 59: US-20, Maumee and Toledo. Reynolds Rd. From here, Dussel Dr west to I-475 north, I-475 around the west side of Toledo to I-75 north at exit 20A, then I-75 to exit 207. About 17 miles, about 22 minutes.
- Exit 64, mile 65: I-75, Toledo and Dayton. The shortest route. I-75 north about 12 miles, straight through Perrysburg, Rossford and downtown Toledo, to exit 207. About 13 miles, about 17 minutes.
- Exit 71, mile 72: I-280 north and SR 420 south, Toledo and Stony Ridge. This is the truck stop exit. TA, Petro, Pilot Flying J and Love’s all sit at I-280 exit 1B. From here, I-280 north 12 miles across the Veterans’ Glass City Skyway to I-75, follow the ramp for I-75 south, and take the first exit, 207. About 15 miles, about 20 minutes.
- Mile 77: Wyandot service plaza eastbound, Blue Heron westbound. A place to stop and call.
- Exit 81, mile 82: SR 51, Elmore, Woodville and Gibsonburg. The east end of this corridor. Westbound to exit 71, then I-280 north. About 26 miles, about 30 minutes.
From exit 207, go north on Stickney Ave about a mile and turn right onto Matzinger Rd. The shop is just east of Stickney, on the same campus as Sam’s Travel Center and Sam’s Parking & Storage.
Which exit to take when the truck is failing
If the truck is still moving, do not stop on the Turnpike shoulder. Get to the next exit or the next service plaza. The lots at exit 71 are the best place in this corridor to park a sick truck: four truck stops, scales, room to wait, and a straight road to us.
If it is not moving, get fully onto the shoulder. Hazards on. Triangles at 10, 100 and 200 feet behind the trailer per 49 CFR 392.22. Stay out of the travel lane. Then call (419) 724-2475. Direction, last exit or mile marker, symptom.
During shop hours, Monday to Friday 8 to 5, emergency calls go to the front of the line. We dispatch the service truck or clear a bay, whichever gets you moving sooner. The Turnpike has its own rules for service vehicles on the toll road itself, so if you are between exits we will tell you honestly whether the truck can reach you or a tow to the bay is faster. Outside shop hours the shop is closed, and we say so here rather than let you find out on the shoulder.
What the service truck brings
Mobile welding. Tire service. Air and brake repairs. Electrical and lighting. Enough diagnostics to tell you on the spot whether it is a lot fix or a bay job. The exit 71 truck stops, the exit 64 interchange and the Reynolds Rd side of exit 59 are all inside its normal range during shop hours.
What the bay brings
Four technicians. ASE, Cummins and International certified. Certified NAPA Truck Care Center with the NAPA parts network and warranty behind the work, which matters when you are 300 miles from home. Qualified DOT inspector under 49 CFR 396.17. Hunter HawkEye XL heavy-duty alignment. CARB Clean Truck Check testing. Class 4 through Class 8, trucks and trailers. Same-day on many repairs, depending on parts, and we tell you before we start.
